I think it is a good time to post a little check-in, this summer has already gone by so quickly. When I last posted I mentioned I was headed to South Dakota and to the Black Hills Playhouse, and well now I am here. It has been a crazy month and a half already! In that time frame I have opened and closed The Play That Goes Wrong, opened The Little Mermaid, and now I am in rehearsal for The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas.
Rehearsing one show during the day, while performing another at night sure has been like a non-stop sprint. It has been a ton of fun, but a great reminder that rest and pacing is extremly important. And knowing that rest comes in different forms was something curcial for me, mental rest is just as important as physical rest. Sleep is good a reset, but so is relaxing and talking with friends or watching an episode
of your favorite show. The key is not doing anything in excess.
The Black Hills Playhouse has been such a beautiful place to be, the area has been gorgeous. There has been a little more whether here than this California boy is use to, beautiful sunshine and highs of 90 to hail and lows in the mid 40s. The fact that Buffalo just freely roam campus is something I am still getting use to as well. I have met some really talented actors and technicians here and I am so excited to keep working them; take a look over at my gallery wall to see some of that we have been doing this summer.
